Help wanted - review an open source messaging project claiming security

So, this looks interesting, and peer to peer, but I can't read code well enough to see if this is secure, and possible in case of emergency collapse with power for a while or some locations.

I'm not enough of a pythonista to be able to make much sense of it. I have not, for example, been able to find the part that actually handles messages. Angelos is a server; the client is kristoffer-paulsson/logo. Neither appears to be very far along in development, and there's no documentation whatsoever.
Also, there's only one developer and it seems like a very new project.
