Poetry sale today

https://ysabetwordsmith.dreamwidth.org/11828744.html

I want "The Pursuit of Happiness", and my last two, In the Light of Creative Altruism and Becoming, Evolving, Ascending. I'm going to send $100, that leaves $6.50 to throw at an open epic, A Cave Swarming with Strange Forms of Life.

I want those poems sponsored in memory of the fires today at BOTH Notre Dame Cathedral and Al-Aqsa Mosque. I adored the art and architecture of Notre Dame, even as a Jew. And damaging Al-Aqsa Mosque hurts my Sufi friends, and is too close to the Kotel, as a Jew again.

My first reaction to these fires is the Feminine side of Deity is pretty upset, at both Pope Emeritus Benedict blaming the QUILTBAG for Catholic clergy pedophilia and homosexuality, and the recently publicized horrific punishments for homosexuals and feminists in more radicalized Muslim countries.

Our Lady's tears are ashes. Bismillah, In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, bitter weeping, Mother Rachel is weeping for her children.

Pax, Salaam, Shalom.

If you want to give me a verse for sharing this, anything with a religious or peace theme.

Help wanted - review an open source messaging project claiming security

So, this looks interesting, and peer to peer, but I can't read code well enough to see if this is secure, and possible in case of emergency collapse with power for a while or some locations.

Help with interfaith memorial service

Anything anyone can get me about the Rappahannock Native Americans: death, grieving, and mourning customs would be greatly appreciated. I offered to speak at whatever memorial service is done, as interfaith rabbinic pastor ordination student and friend of the family.

My friend's mom died while having the cardiac surgery I expected for myself since I was ten years old. No, I'm not good right now, but I don't want to upset anyone's ancestors either, so I'm asking for help and hopefully respectfully. I might contact the public phone number for the Rappahannock Nation, but to do that, about probably a very well known cousin (My friend's grandfather was either Chief or an Elder for the Rappahannock, his children should have known names, even if not enrolled) has shades of Germans sending condolences to me about my cousins dead in the Holocaust.

I understand circles of grief. Comfort in, reaching is outwards. I know people here, who know other Native Nations at least.

FB death notice by my friend phrased as: At 1:19 today, P K joined the ancestors. May she be remembered always.

After NZ Mosque massacre

Shalom aleichum, salaam aleikum. 🔯😭💔🌐

From the Universalist Sufi Order, if you want a prayer for our Muslim cousins, expressed in terms we can all recognize at least:

Prayer for Peace

Send Thy peace O Lord,
which is perfect and everlasting, that our souls may radiate peace.

Send Thy peace O Lord,
that we may think, act and speak harmoniously.

Send Thy peace O Lord,
that we may be contented and thankful for Thy bountiful gifts.

Send Thy peace O Lord,
that amidst our worldly strife, we may enjoy Thy bliss.

Send Thy peace O Lord,
that we may endure all, tolerate all, in the thought of Thy grace and mercy.

Send Thy peace O Lord,
that our lives may become a Divine vision and in Thy light, all darkness may vanish.

Send Thy peace O Lord,
our Father and Mother, that we Thy children on Earth may all unite in one family. Amen.

Mississippi Baked Stuffed Matzah Balls

This recipe is from Joan Nathan's Jewish Cooking in America cookbook. If you like the free taste, go buy one of her cookbooks, please? I have several, and I cook from each of them. These originated in Lithuania, and are connected to the mystical Chasidic tradition. Think the sweet spices associated with Havdalah!

Feeling better

Not as sick. Tomorrow I want to transfer my notes about one of my books for the Spring Introduction to Jewish Mysticism and Rabbi Zalman's Thought to here for others to learn as well.

What I really want is a bunch of questions for me to answer to make a summary post about the past year.

My version of Ask Me Anything!

Magpie Monday

DD is having their Magpie Monday here today, go prompt for an unexpected gift! https://dialecticdreamer.dreamwidth.org/499900.html

I posted this:

My heart problem is congenital and genetic, subaortic stenosis tends to run in families. I thought it being overcautious to need clearance from my cardiologist before getting pregnant, but followed my GYN/OB's request. I'm glad I did.

Can Dr. Elizabeth Finn surgically repair the next generation baby, when she had done the surgery on the mother as one of her first surgeries? I found it a comfort that my doctor spoke with his Japanese accented English, and accepted my profuse gratitude in Japanese after seeing my removed bits with only a smile.

"Arigato Gozaimashti, Toyado-sama!" I accidentally called him a minor deity, but I was profusely grateful for my life restored, after having over 4 cms of a fibrous membrane removed from attachment points at my aortic and mitral valves.

And got a wonderful story for a very unexpected gift!

And here was my story present: https://dialecticdreamer.dreamwidth.org/500075.html

Fishbowl on Election Day 2018

Today's Poetry Fishbowl, here: https://ysabetwordsmith.dreamwidth.org/11612125.html

My prompt:

Sigh. What do you do with relatives who just can't hear you? Make family who does, of course!

Cousins on my husband's side are generally good people, but really aren't hearing any concerns for my underage AAA Jewish teen, SlytherClaw Teen, under this administration.

Show ONE way of Underground Railroad, run, or FIGHT, for the horrible choices that might be ahead. Give me more on Leor in An Army of One, or Antimatter in Polychrome Heroics, or Adam and his playmates in Frankenstein's Family, or SOMEONE SEEMINGLY LOVED as long as they STOP saying that they are different. </3 My heart is breaking over my teen trying not to care. I have told them the stories of our relatives on the refugee ships who died being sent BACK to Germany, after being refused entry to the United States of America. I never mentioned our lesbian Jew cousin in the Nazi breeding houses, dying in childbirth. Nice people will still watch as we are taken away, as long as nobody has an abortion or takes away their guns. I'm watching the Wonder Woman movie tonight. Technoshaman has the voting in 2018 meme that I'm referencing with my icon today.

Scene response in PolyChrome Heroics

I have a partial scene and character as response to this post: https://dialecticdreamer.dreamwidth.org/481100.html#cutid1

[personal profile] dialecticdreamer, [personal profile] ysabetwordsmith, [personal profile] siliconshaman: you each and together to use which parts you want. It was easier to post this here for me than to go through email stuff. So I don't expect this to be canon for PolyChrome Heroics, merely more source material.

My character: presents as female, wears a Bukharan kippah, saroul pants - loose at the top, fitted below the knees down, tzittzit fringes visible at side waist, front and back, and boots. Other character information within scene!

And I go! Read more... ) More later, if no one forbids me!

Day 2 Placeholder

I haven't decided yet whether I'm going to write up my card 2, or post a response scenario to someone else's post. I will decide tomorrow!

Additional information for my Tarot meditation: much of my ideas about Tarot came initially from Piers Anthony's Tarot series. :-)

This Jewish Fool's Journey

I have been fascinated by the concept of a holy fool for a while. In the Pesach Seder, we have a part with four children: the wise one, the wicked or rebellious one, the simple child, and "the one who doesn't even know how to ask". Each child is supposedly given an answer to suit them, but the answers to the wise and simple are the ones that grabbed my attention.

Fox in Perek Shirah as an Animal Spiritual teacher

In the introduction to Perek Shirah, the idea is expressed to use the natural world as something to learn from and as a living Torah. The Fox is given a very complex statement from Jeremiah as both prophets’ rebuke and a lament by the fox.

Yes, it's an essay )

I have a Power Point Presentation in PDF if you send me a message.

Information Literacy

What is Information Literacy?
Information literacy is finding valid answers to questions that are reliable, usable, and able to be both documented and replicated by others needing the same questions answered if necessary.

- How is your answer different now than it would have been during Week 1?
My answer is different now than in Week 1 because I really didn’t understand how others were performing supposedly the same Google searches but getting different answers. I didn’t know about filter bubbles preventing people from getting specific information without a directed search specifically aimed outside their bubbles.

- What will you do differently now that you have taken this course?
I will make sure more of my conservative family and friends get to see results from websites such as https://www.allsides.com/unbiased-balanced-news and see the TED talk about filter bubbles (previous post). I think the most important statement in that talk was programming in some ethical responsibility towards other people and viewpoints.
